Chocolate PB Brownies

Pour yourself a nice cold glass of milk to go with these delicious chocolate brownies. They would look especially appetizing served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with chocolate sauce and sprinkled with peanuts. |

Heat chocolate in medium heavy saucepan on lowest heat, stirring often, until chocolate is almost melted. Remove from heat. Stir until smooth. Transfer to medium bowl. Add condensed milk. Stir until smooth. Add peanut butter and egg. Stir until combined. Add biscuit mix. Stir until no dry mix remains. Spread evenly in parchment paper-lined greased 8 inch (20 cm) round cake pan. Put an even layer (2 to 3 inches, 5 to 7.5 cm, thick) of crumpled foil into bottom of 5 to 7 quart (5 to 7 L) slow cooker (see Tip, page 80). Pour 2 cups (500 mL) boiling water into slow cooker. Place pan on foil, pushing down gently to settle evenly. Lay double layer of tea towel over slow cooker liner. Cover with lid. Cook on High for 1 1/2 hours. Transfer pan to wire rack. Let stand for 10 minutes. Cuts into 12 wedges. |
