Combine flour, sugar and baking powder in large bowl. Make a well in centre. Melt margarine in small saucepan on medium. Remove from heat. Stir in milk. Add eggs and zest. Stir. Add to well. Add dates. Stir until combined. Turn into greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch (22 x 12.5 x 7.5 cm) loaf pan. Bake in 350°F (175°C) oven for 55 to 60 minutes until wooden pick inserted in centre comes out clean. Let stand in pan for 10 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool. Cuts into 16 slices. |
