Peanut Butter Cookies

Golden morsels with a classic peanut butter cookie appearance. This immensely satisfying snack has a mild peanut butter flavour.
 
Light smooth peanut butter1/2 cup125 mL
Brown sugar, packed1/3 cup75 mL
Hard margarine (or butter), softened1/4 cup60 mL
 
Large egg11
Milk1/4 cup60 mL
Vanilla1/2 tsp.2 mL
 
All-purpose flour1 1/2 cups375 mL
Baking powder1/2 tsp.2 mL
Baking soda1/2 tsp.2 mL
 
Beat peanut butter, brown sugar and margarine in small bowl until light and creamy.

Add egg, milk and vanilla. Beat until well combined.

Combine flour, baking powder and baking soda in medium bowl. Add to margarine mixture. Mix well. Drop by slightly rounded tablespoonfuls, about 2 inches (5 cm) apart, onto greased baking sheet. Press with fork to flatten slightly. Bake in 375°F (190°C) oven for about 12 minutes until lightly golden. Let stand on baking sheet for 10 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool. Makes about 30 cookies.
