Savoury Blue Cheese Tart

Heat canola oil in medium frying pan on medium. Add asparagus tips and chopped asparagus. Cook, covered, for 1 to 2 minutes until bright green. Remove tips to plate. Set aside. Add rice to frying pan. Stir. Spread evenly in greased 9 inch (22 cm) deep dish pie plate. Sprinkle both cheeses over top. Combine next 3 ingredients in large bowl. Combine remaining 4 ingredients in small bowl. Add to egg mixture. Stir well. Pour over asparagus mixture. Arrange asparagus tips in spoke pattern over egg mixture. Bake, uncovered, in 400°F (205°C) oven for about 35 minutes until golden and knife inserted in centre comes out clean. Let stand for 5 minutes. Cuts into 6 wedges. |
