Combine first 4 ingredients in small bowl. Place chicken between 2 sheets of plastic wrap. Pound with mallet or rolling pin until flattened. Cut in half lengthwise. Place in medium bowl. Add 1/4 cup (60 mL) mirin mixture. Turn until coated. Marinate, covered, in refrigerator for 30 minutes. Thread chicken, accordion-style, onto skewers. Preheat barbecue to high. Place skewers on greased grill. Cook for about 2 minutes per side, brushing with remaining mirin mixture, until no longer pink inside. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Makes 8 skewers. |
